Harvesting Potatoes - 18th September

Our little harvest of potatoes in the garden today. They didn't do too well this year as the permaculture beds were new and potatoes need to go deep, so they would have had trouble breaking through the cardboard. However, our goal is all about soil improvement with this method so we should have some great spuds next year.

Putting our potatoes to sleep for the winter. We covered them with hay made from our wild meadow. It's important to always keep the soil covered.

We also picked some herbs to dry, weeded the beds - so easy to do using the permaculture method - and saved some seeds from some of the plants we purposely let go to seed. We shall share these with everyone next spring.
