Kilcock Tidy Towns are delighted to announce that Kilcock has been selected by Kildare County Council to have FREE Biodiversity ( + Green Infrastructure) Training and Planning.
Green Pine Consultants will be working with all of us to produce a plan for the whole town that will be implemented in collaboration with the businesses, community groups, schools etc. Everyone is involved. Please try to make sure there is someone representing your area / business / group who will be able to attend at least YOUR part of the meetings. We are trying to include all businesses, community groups, all interested Residents etc. in Kilcock so we would ask you to help us by sharing this with anyone you think might be interested or should be involved. .
Where: Online When: • Training Session 1 (General Biodiversity Talk): Sept 7th @ 7pm • Training Session 2: Saturday Sept 17th (2-5pm) • Training Session 3: Thursday Sept 29th (7-9pm) To register for the training, please enter your name and email address into the following Google Form (simply click on the link to bring you to the form): https://forms.gle/D6HM56JSxWoygw3P8 Meeting invitations will be sent out 2 days before each event so please make sure you have registered before then to receive the link. You only need to register once for the 3 events. The aim of the training programme will be to introduce biodiversity, why it is important, and explore practical biodiversity actions that will enhance your community for people and nature. The outcome of the training programme will be a 5-year Biodiversity Action Plan for the community. This is a free event and everyone with an interest in improving Kilcock’s biodiversity are welcome to attend. The training will be delivered by Dr Mary O’Connor (ecologist), Dr Fiona Mac Gowan (ecologist) & Green Pine Consultants (landscape architect). We realise you are all busy people and may not be able to attend all of the meetings, so to make it easier for you to be involved we have scheduled the areas we will be discussing in Training Session 2: Saturday Sept 17th (2-5pm) as outlined below. These times are indicative only. If you or representatives from your group cannot attend on this date please let us know and we will try to schedule discussion of your area in Training Session 3: Thursday Sept 29th (7-9pm) but please be aware that we need to address the main bulk of the areas in session 2. If you feel your business / community group etc. should or would like to be on the schedule below please let us know and we will do our best to make sure you are included.
